For those special events where you have a limited amount of space, Taquizas is the way to go. Small and compact in size, yet we can cook and serve HOT FRESH FOOD on the spot, right there at your event. But if you have space we can park out truck, your guests have more to choose from and with the same relaxing atmosphere where they can socialize and make fond memories they can look back on and eat good food!

Come join the ghosts, vampires, werewolves and other characters at this 5K fun run and walk. This event won't just be about walking and running. There will also be many different booths, entertainment, drumming, dancing, and so much more. You don't want to miss it!

This year's race will be held at Lake Merritt Pergola. The race starts promptly at 9:00am.

Online registration closes on October 29th at 12pm. If you miss online registration, you can also register the day-of between 7:00-8:00am for $45.00. If you pre-register online, please check in between 8:00-9:00am on the day of the event to pick up your event packet, t-shirt, and running bib.

This event attracts runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, who may or may not choose to dress in costume and compete for fun.  As part of the festivities we will have a costume contest. We encourage participants to get creative and dress in costume for the race. This is a family-friendly event so G-rated costumes only. Simply stop by the costume contest tent to register and be judged from 7:00-10:00 am on race morning. The costume categories include: Most Original, Scariest, Funniest, Youth and Best of Show. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The finalists will be announced at 12:30pm at the event site.

Weather or Disaster Emergency

In the event of severe weather or a disaster that causes the event to be delayed, altered or canceled we encourage you to listen to the announcer at the start/finish line or race officials along the course for special instructions. The event will proceed rain or shine. No refunds will be issued for an event that is delayed, altered or canceled. Any pre-race weather or disaster related information will be posted on  www.oaklandfoodpantry.org.

The Oakland Food Pantry is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization Our mission is to promote healthy living by providing for to low-income residents of West Oakland. As a result of these efforts, it is also our intent to donate proceeds from the event to support the Food Pantry local 501c3 organizations that assist the needs of our community.
